Blue and Silver Christmas Day 2 - Giltter Pine Cones

This is a fun craft that kids can get in on. I started painting the pine cones "my way", getting in every crack and crevice, and my 4-year-old was next to me just happily painting it how ever she wanted. She busted out 8 (COUNT 'EM...8) pine cones in the time I did the top 1/2 of one. Hmmmm... And after looking at hers, I actually liked them with a bit of the original cone showing. You can see mine there in the front of the sleigh. I think hers looked awesome, too, and they took much less time! he he he

What you'll need:

Small craft paint brush
Paint of your choice
Pine Cones
Something to display them in (I've seen glass fish bowls used and other fun variations. I found this at a thrift store last year for $.50. It was gold, but I just have it a quick silver makeover.)

Once the paint dried, I brushed the ModPodge on kind of at random with a medium-sized paint brush and then let the kiddos sprinkle the giltter on.

  1. They all look so pretty. I love the colour you have chosen too.

    Great job, both of you!

    Best wishes,

  2. Love these. I have tons of pine cones this year and will be doing just this!

I LOVE your comments! They're the reason I blog. If you've used one of my tutorials or found them helpful, I'd also love to see pics! You can post them on my FB page or send an email: attemptingaloha @ gmail . com
